I have been working on the Becker Family Christmas Quilt. Of course, I need to be finished by Saturday, in 4 days, I work well under pressure.
This is the third year we have raffled a quilt at our family Christmas. The first year it was an Applique quilt that I had made and Mom hand quilted, the last one she did, Karen (granddaughter) won it. Second year it was the quilt that we made for Mom and Dad’s 50th wedding anniversary with the caveat that the winner had to give back to drape on her coffin (that’s my Mom, practical), Helen (granddaughter) won it. Then the B quilt, Addie (great granddaughter) won that one.
This year the theme was Home Sweet Home. I had asked that everyone make blocks that remind them of home. My sisters Carol, Janet, Eileen, Kay, and Pattie, and my cousin Natalie (Whitney) and myself have made blocks for it. We will sell raffle tickets for $1 per chance for the quilt and 4 other donated items.
In the past, the money has gone to pay for the hall and the remainder to Mom. I am hoping this year to donate to the Angel Tree or a family in need.
